unfortunally poor little freddie is very unwell!
went up the yard this morning, he seemed ok nothing to worry about. gave him his breakfast and then went in to go and change his rugs and ready to turn out. and with in 10 mins he had sweated up and thrashing around. called the vet hes on his way...
while freddie is getting worst, he does get colic alot but this is the worst ive seen him. then dom came, took his pulse only 30!!!! so dom sadated him and got him on his feet and checked him over, rectal exam showed that he hasnt got anything wrong or unusal about his gut. listened to his stomach and he said its all quiet, took a luquid sample from his adomin which was fine. dom gave him some pain killers and said because its in the eirly stages its abit eirly to tell much so to call him in 2hrs...
well after 2hrs freddie was feeling better and getting back to cheeky self, so rang and told him said he wants to eat. so gave him a small bran mash and alittle haylage...
a couple of hrs later poor freddie went back down hill again, he wouldnt eat and then got very very very cold shivering dispite having a cooler, 2 medium weight stables, a duvet and a heavy weight rug and even bandages!!! then started to lie down and want to roll... called vet again who simon came out this time.
checked his pulse 34!!!! then did another rectal exam and listen to his stomach and same as before. simon said that he needs to go to the clinic, to be put on a drip as he hasnt pee'd or poo'd all day and hasnt drank at all! so me and mum took him up the vets, which was horrible i hated leaving him up there but i know hes in the best hands.
they dont know whats causeing it because his pulse is so low, and he cold, but yet not well at all...
