I had a pony that was not happy too much in his mouth with different bits Lucy recommended that we went to Nesure bits and had a great chat with a lady called heather, went through everything from flat work, to jumping to his attitude etc etc etc she sent a little bit and pony loves it, may be give them a ring....We were well chuffed..

Update.
Had a grid work lesson with Bobby a few weeks ago, a few poles, small jump, poles again. Eventhough hes use to jumping 2'9 up he knocked the jump everytime until he started thinking about what he was doing and by the end he was going great.
That was in a three ring gag and we had too much breaks in that and he didnt like it much at all.
Went to horse sales yesterday and brought a loose ring french link "swivel" snaffle with the idea that he wouldnt be able to lean on it.
However havent tried it yet as he put his jumping skills to use and jumped out of his field and sliced opebn his cannon bone which has so far taken 2 weeks for it to heal enough to come back into work...so unfortunatly i think WH at the Welsh show is out of the question

Hi have you tired a tom thumb? I use one for my eventer, the only bit I have ANY brakes in. I have been told that the Myler combination bits are not very good for anything strong as it takes such a long time for each individual aspect to work, and your horse will be long gone by then! Apparently the tom thumbs are a legal showing bit (according to BSPS) and very cheap (about £15).
