Hi Janet - yes I now have to let them call me Granny too! We are still debating whether it will be Nana/Nanny/Granny. Granny sounds a very very old person [much older than me! he he] so I might go with Nana - thats what I used to call my Nan. It hardly seems but a couple of years ago we were all discussing what our kids would be like as teenagers and look at them now - parents of the next generation.
Whats your baby then?

Karen - thanks - we are all thrilled with her - our first foal for about 14 years! Med - Can't wait to watch you turn from I'm-too-young-to-be-a-granny to simpering idiot whenever she smiles at you! I have the title of Grandma (aargh! makes me sound about 80) because the grndchildren already had a Nanny who was Nanny to their cousins. So we are 'gamma' and 'gandad' now. And we have a Connemara filly (Warrendale Fairy Queen) out of Cocum Fairytale by John's Cuckoo.

Wow - I like that Janet [and I presume your grandchild?]
Simpering, cooing, gaga all within 5 minutes Janet. Cannot wait to get her to a show and show her off to everyone, but I expect I will have to fight Tracey for that honour as she booked the right to babysit at shows months ago.
I have not thought about what to be called, none of them sound like the twenty year old granny I would LIKE to be, just the 61 year old granny that I am!

I said Nanny only as I was a very young Nanny anyway as my daughter has 2 and is only 19 anyway but I love it and am mad on the baby's. My mum was always nanny when my children where little and has now decided she is great grandma to the baby's which sounds very funny now she would have gone mad if we had called her that once time. I will probably be great at some time as well if they go on my daughters way as well. The foal is so wonderful as well.

Lovely pictures I always wanted to be called Gran use to say I am not a goat ( as in Nanny goat ;D )But would my granddaughter call me Gran no way She happily calls my mum Great Gran and we tried to get her to call me Gran but no way would she, to her I have always been Nanny. Now she is 8 years old I asked her why she would never call me Gran and her reply was "Because your my Nanny " and gave me one of those looks only children can give you. ;D
