We called up for a 15.2 anglo arab last night. We had some pics through and he is fine and a LOVVVELLYY dark dappled grey. However, he follows more to the arab side of his breeding and tends to trot with his tail right up in the air. Thing is,we are looking to buy for the show ring. Will him carrying his tail this high mark him down in the riding horse/hack classes? Im trying to get pics up but the dam work computer is on a go slow and generally trying to wind me up!

Personally I would'nt like it, study the 'big boys' I think you'll find they like them to have a 'swing' in their tail with it down.

Echo masters too to be honest Maybe we could pass more of a judgement when you are able to get some pics. Sounds really nice though-its about time you found something!!!

Yes, you accept a high tail carriage with an Arab - but not a hack/riding horse - you woukld view it and think - "Arab"

I like him too. But I echo Megs fears of what classes can she show in apart from pba? Anyway going to have a look probably after the show has finished tomorrow - Mo Rogers.

Again, I think for even PBA (at the 'bigger' shows) he does carry his tail to high. Can he jump? There's always a job out there for a nice animal, which he certainly looks like.

I'm not sure that he'd have as higher tail carriage when under saddle. You may be ok. Mine is different in the field running around than she is when ridden. My youngster looks like a purebred in the field I really like the horse and think he's def worth another look.

Megs is right. We really MUST split our profile. Anyway, this is Mo, Megs mum. She has gone to look at him now. I dont think he jumps?¬!?!?!?!?! Know hes been used as a endurance which, and I know NOTHING about endurance. But being 10 years old, I dont know what his head carriage will be like. Anyway, as I say she is looking at him as I type this.. . . . . . So will get her to post what she saw when she gets in.
He certainly is going very cheap, which makes me wonder what is wrong with him. But there again, its a buyers market at the moment

went and saw him last night.
He didnt have as many or as dark dapples on him but then many horses havent had their summer coat through this year.
He doesnt carry his tail as high under saddle, its carried as the same height of his bum. Hes also had some schooling somewhere along the line as he carries his head in a nice outline.
However, he has a big bump on his hind leg and his off side hind flicks out in trot and hes hurrendous on the roads so unfortunatley hes a no go :-(
