We're almost paddling up the road in our little village and our sandschool, that has never flooded EVER, has little puddles around the edge!!! Our fields are on a slope and the water is running down them like a river Poppy went out today and had her usual gallop around but she must have skidded about three times before she realised how wet it was, bless her! Our water tanks are all overflowing and it's all ending up in the fields so thank goodness we've got two top fields that are still quite dry I feel sorry for the poor farmers, what a crap summer they've had to contend with Anyway on a lighter note, has anyone heard about the December heatwave we're supposed to be in for

Have had to bring a 2 yr old RP in for the winter already as the rain and wind has just washed the condition off her, poor little soul. She was so pleased to see deep straw and loads of hay this afternoon! Can't believe this weather. The OH is still struggling to find enough dry time to combine the odd field here and there. About 300 acres of wheat and oats still left to get in and no hope at the moment!

Here in Sandbay we have had the worst flooding I have seen since I moved here. Our fields are surrounded by rhynes and they all overflowed yesterday as the tide came in, and there were areas that were just one patch of water. We on the beach were marooned between the sea and the water behind and there were ponies standing in water not fields. We have flooded stables and the road up to the yard is under water. Most of the water came from the drains that were unable to cope and the manhole where sending out water spouts two foot high! The environment agency were all out trying to get the water back out to sea as the tide went down. I am just off to check the ponies out on conservation work to see how they are faring

Short answer is: - we are NOT going to have a summer this year. Now they're forecasting a hurricane! However, the metman said that usually we have good weather following a hurricane, so here's hoping for the weekend!
