yes nice thick snow in south wales, got into work though and they sent us home eventually at 11 ish i work in an aggricultral store so have to go in unless told not too, so farmers can get food for livestock but was supprised at the amount of people coming it to buy wild bird food when they have driven through six inches of snow to get to us, is it really worth it .

we had snow and if our school bus didn't arrive (it was 'at the drivers discretion') we weren't gonna go. unfortunately our driver decided to pick us up, and we swerved and skidded all the way to school! we are in devon, so we didn't get as much snow as other places, but we still got quite a bit, and if we get ANY tomorrow, im not going! lolol

I've been stranded in Scotland!!! We went to Perth to a cattle sale, drove back to Glasgow they then cancelled the flight at last minute and said they wouldnt be able to fly us home til weds night!! However we had to lose a day yesterday and managed to fly out of Edinburgh back to bristol last night. I do have to drive back up to Dumfries tomorrow to pick the new girls up so i am keeping my fingers crossed for good weather and that i can make it back on Friday and stil get to the show on Saturday!

Can't say I'm thrilled at all this white stuff!! If the truth be told, I actually loathe it and I know that's probably the wrong thing to say...!! Trouble is, I slip and slide and fall over and then bones get broken and who looks after the ponies and sheep then? Am a bit disgusted too, at the way the whole country has closed down over a bit of snow. I was 16 when we had the really bad winter of 1962/3 and was actually born during the horrendous winter of 1947 (work it out for yourselves, yes, that's how old I am! ha ha) Everyone struggled to carry on as usual - the milk was delivered, the postman got through, the buses put on a service, albeit limited and you had maybe to get to a different bus stop. Schools most definitely did not close and God help you if you didn't at least try to get there. Everyone struggled to get to work - I remember my mother setting out to walk eight miles to get to work because she would be relied upon. Nowadays it seems to be a good excuse for a skive. If that sounds a little harsh, and I sound like a miserable old sod, think about it this way - everyone struggled to get to the yard to feed and care for their horses and ponies during the snow, farmers got out of bed and dealt with the livestock that depended on them so what was stopping the same effort being put into getting to work and to school? I think the London Transport system should be severely castigated for their attitude...
Sermon over.
Hope all goes well for the show at the weekend. Wish I could be there but hope you all do and the entries are massive!

Richard and I will make a decision tonight and post it on the website and here.
The thing we need to consider now is whether judges can get there - without them there is no show!
Whatever we will only postpone and hold another day.
