Sorry Medwin, NOT having a go or anything, but noticed that the NPS Junior ridden and the Pictons have been pulled out of the timetable/ schedule. My daughter was going to do both classes and has DEMANDED that I find out why! I persume it is due to the poor number of entries at the Trinity show (how I WISH we had done the picton there!!!), but just wanted to clarify in case there is something us NPS members can do to help. As I said, NOT having a go, just dissapointed as it puts a question mark on going for us.

We had to drop these classes as we were totally unable to get a second NPS judge for what we planned to run. We looked at the classes that were supported at the Trinity show and dropped the ones that were not well supported.
The NPS have been notified, but feel free to write and complain to them as their judges are so difficult to get and they are limited in some competitions to the number of qualifiers they can judge. I am not talking about one or two phone calls but 60+, and we still could not get one. This was the very reason we dropped them before - NPS classes are not cost effective - everyone wants them, but then doesn't support them!

I know you did - and didn't you do well!
Still feel the numbers are disappointing considering the amount of people shouting they wanted them back! Well, we will see what the Welsh and Summer show entries are like before we make any decisions

And Emily is still trying to qualify for the Picton! She has got a few shows with qualifiers lined up, but she really needs a non-very-well-supported-class ;D

Its a shame the judges are not easy to get hold of and i would be supporting welsh nps tickets but i have the inhand ones and cant go under that judge this year and also our breed show clashes with the summer show but will see if the judges are any use.
Maybe we just need one swpa show that is totally dedicated to nps and maybe would get more people?!

well, we went to a show on Sunday and again the NPS classes were not terribly well supported. Emily managed to pick up her Picton qualifier by the way! We have been to several shows lately where only 2 or 3 in a class or even no entries. Seems to be the way things are at the moment.

This show is obviously going to be busy, but I have not done the entries yet so don't know if they are for the NPS classes.
I just ask again - where are all these people who were so adament they wanted the classes put on? They cannot all have retired since last year!
Take your point Stumps, but at which show? Do we cater for those in Wales at the Welsh show or the people from the south at Taunton or Lympsham. By doing all three no one can moan we are not catering for everyone! ;D

Yes the show on Saturday and the NPS Show in Cornwall on Sunday was the same apparently; I just think that people aren't maybe spending the money this year! (My friend got entries into Kent County two weeks late and I know other County Shows have been more lenient with late entries!) We are not doing NPS for the first time in years (and I love NPS Champs )because Jess is doing the Young Judges at BSPS and we just can't afford to do all the Champs! We always go to PUK so we've had to forfeit NPS as well as the fact that it's too much for the ponies to do. A couple of my friends up North have found it much easier to qualify this year due to lack of entries in NPS classes but I think it's the same right across the board and it will be interesting to see how well supported all the Championships are this year!

Echo what a lot of people are saying, have to forfeit some shows because of the expence. We like trying as many as poss but we are only doing P(UK) & BSPS Champs this year. Of course hope to do SWPA!!!!!
