Be warned my daughter has just been caught out on the following scam:
Telephone call on her landline telling her she had been selected to have an upgrade to a contract mobile (people are supposedly from orange) for £2 per month and the latest nokia phone included free of charge - they know her mobile number and a few other details such as her dob, then proceed to ask for her bank details etc (which silly girl gave them) turns out its a scam which she found out quite quickly and has had to cancel her bank account etc but they have sufficient information to commit identity fraud now which is worrying - she has informed the police as well - her dad had a similar call and when he said he already had a orange contract phone they hung up.

We have had several making out the are aol - our ISP. Done via email we got suspicious when we were asked for our pin number!!!!!!! We contacted aol and they verified it was a scam and we just reported the email as scam and it has now been blocked. We were getting one every month and it looked very official.

I think my youngest daughter had the best one - she had one of these survey calls where you have to give various details including income to qualify for a holiday or something stupid - trying to sell timeshares - Jo strung them along (she was 15 at time) and gave them false details etc then came to income and Jo says 1 million pounds per annum - they were dumbstruck and then carried on where jo ended the conversation by saying "sorry too busy spending my fantastic income to continue this conversation" and hung up - kept them on the phone for at least 1/2 hour though
