There have been sightings of caravans popping up in various places in North Cornwall. I have seen two caravans and a transit van parked up in a lane near the Norh Cornwall/North Devon border, and my friend has told me that some caravans and transits have appeared in a layby between Kilkhampton and Bude on the A39. Now they may be legitimatley there but the first thing that sprang to mind was that they looked like travellers/pikeys. The lane they are parked in has a bit of a rough layby area, and it's more of a passing place, but not the sort of place a normal person would park a van in. There are definitely people living in the vans as there are water containers etc set up and we've seen people there. They've been there a few days now so weren't just stopping for a night.
Just please be aware that there may be travellers so please make sure your yards and horses are secure.

i hate the nasty ones like that, they park down here in a lane right next to an old ladys house, and theres nothing that can be done to mive them, the poor lady gets scaired to go out of her house!.
also when i last saw them last time with a new EQUI TREK show trekka! i was so gutted as i want one but they are so expesive!

We have been warned by the police to keep gates shut up here in Weston as they come here at this time of the year. Dereck Mead got rid of them with pig slurry last time they came on to his fields!

Suneagle, don't worry about having an Equi- Trek, we had a brand new one, the ponies HATED it!! I hated it, and we sold as soon as on Ebay, they are tinny, poor quality, and very low to the ground, so if you get on a boggy show ground they get stuck. I had good travellers being really bad in travelling in ours. Just my opinion, but we thought them poor quality for the money, and they never matched our Rice Badmington that we still have, and is 15 years old, we had from new, and is still solid as a rock!
