Our Daihatsu Fourtrak is amazing, it will pull anything, is cheap to run and has never let us down! The only downside is the boot is not as roomy as the Discovery's boot. We used to own a Discovery and we were always filling up with diesel; I went from Torrington, all the way up to Leicester with a full tank in my Daihatsu and I didn't have to refill until Taunton on the way home.(A full tank is £45.OO worth, not bad at all!) And that included driving around while we were up there. ;D

Ashamed to say I could never reverse a trailer when we had one so after half a season of asking some nice gentleman on the showground to do it for me, my husband bought me my first lorry (would'nt go back to a trailer now) When we did have a trailer we had a 'disco'. Found it did the job quite well. I admire any one trying to get show ponies and lead rein riders ready with a trailer. been there done that.

i alwys double check towhitch etc as about 15yrs ago someone's trailer came off towhitch and the safety cable was rotten and came away, the trailer went past the towing vehicle on a corner and hit a tree and flipped the 2 horses were killed instantly. making it worse they had just bought the ponies and they were well known ponies in the area pc and they had to go and tell the owner. i always get our trailer checked fully (sort of mot) every spring and a quick check after 6mnths.

Well we now have a lorry and a trailer but unfortunately on our maiden journey with the lorry, it broke down (but nothing more serious than a corroded cap on the air tank!) However, we're keeping the trailer just in case we may need it
