the pics of my pb arab stallion the cheek strap looks to big to me does anyone agree??? everything else on this inhand bridle fits fine but there is no more room for holes on the cheek strap so how should i go about altering it? ?? some good advise needed lol. also to show him in pb arab class at summer show does the handler have to wear a hard hat or is a 'cowboy type' ok? trying to get my partner to show him but he is not at all keen on the dress code so what could he get away with wearing? (the pics of this bridle are in should i show them) Pic addde by admin

hi. the buckle of the cheek strap should be level with the eye to make it look ok. a saddler can shorten it or try and buy a shorter one. ill see if we have any. see you 2morrow

do you mean the throat lash? If so yes it's too long. Any good saddler will be able to shorten this for you ;D For his head I would try and find a wider nose band. Also I would show him in a normal snaffle rather that the stallion bit (they are not very commen now in Hunter pony breeding classes any more)

yeah i meant throat lash sorry lol with this bridle it is all in one, riding bridles have the two different bits but this one is all on one, would the stallion bit be ok to show in as feel a lot more comfortable using this one inhand as he respondes a lot better???

Yes you can show in that bit!
I was just giving my Personal Opinion.
if you were looking for a new bridle for him I would also go for a ligher havanna.

nicki
you can get a straight bar snaffle with a port init , thats what i show my fell stallion in , and you'd be surprised how much control you have init, not many people use stallion bits now has they are harsh on the ponies mouth, i agree with the nose band a thicker one , and get throat and cheek peices shortened, contact poppy on here her husband can work miracles. karen

that bit is sometimes called a magic bit or mild correction bit. dont ask why thats just what ive seen them advertised as in catalogues,as we use them

actually i think you shouldnt go much smaller if you have to, becuase he does have big cheeks and also he is quite large there, try and get someone to trot him out and you can see for your self, cause i guess he does tuck his head in or go on the bit when trotting out. and a tight throat lash will be restiricting...
