i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb34/janinehoward/NewImage.jpgwhich classes would you suggest, pluto is 15.2 this pic was taken a few months ago, he has more mucsle now. he is a pure breed lipizzaner, so i know he can not do normal m = m classes but i was wondering what other classes you would all suggest, riding horse?? all though in his build he is quite heavy he dosnt have a huge amout of bone ridden hunters out?? light weight hunters?? feed back would be great. he has never been shown before, and this is our first year together.

Small Hunter, Riding Horse, Comptition Horse.
Best thing is to try some classes.
Type is also down to judges tastes. Some may like a horse and a Riding Horse however another may as a Hunter!

currently schooling to develop uphill paces, natural head carriage although because of his breed his natrual head carriage is higher than alot of english breeds, i think this could be a down side as may get marked down, he still needs a lot of schooling, (4 months ago his canter was so bad it felt disunitied, but wasnt), so all in all in id say he has a moderate high action, will extend when asked, very sensitive in the mouth but also very strong, currently schooling in a happy mouth loose ring normal snaffles he hates has a huge impact on everything, (can i compete in novice classes in a happy mouth?) hacks i use a gag or slotted kimblewick. (when i went to try him was in a waterford mouth strapped shut ect!)

Happy mouth snaffle is fine for novice classes.

I have the same problem! I am riding an 15.2 ex-racehorse for a friend with a real 'look at me attitude' and an extended trot to match. I would love to show her in 'Race horse to Riding horse' qualifiers but they are too far away as im in Wales. Some people are saying that she should go in Lightweight Hunters, Small Hunters, Riding Horses and Hacks but I have no idea what to put her in. Personally myself I would say she was a hack but all the above classes seem to have the same type!

A hack/riding horse and a hunter are surely different types! Best to try her at a show and get some expert advice, depending on what level you wish to show you may get away with entering riding horse and /or hack classes. It'll be interesting to see pics.
