In hand is Tweed Jackets general for all types. nurh nurh nurh! i get away with wearing what i want hehe! but i reccon b with tweed over top would look very smart. anyways i pratice inhand alot, so when the weather is quite abit warmer start praticing standing, walking, and trotting your pony in the bridle, you may find she just naturally goes on the bit schooled horses tend too when they have a bit in... also hold her near the bit and stride out with your steps so theres abit of pressure like when your riding on the bit but you walking out will encrouge your pony to walk out nicely and trak up in their stride as a common problem is they go abit laid back inhand. i hope you are going to be doing the young handler classes...

Over to the experts on this one. I think some showing gear is over the top. After all your showing the pony not yourself ( that is what they think on the shetland isles anyway). Of course if it's turn out class you have to have right gear that goes without saying.

i was always taught if the pony has dark legs then wear light coloured trousers and vise versa for a light coloured pony , it so the judge can se the ponies legs and not urs .

Leather gloves would finish it off, it is correct to turn yourself out properly as it shows respect for the judge.

Well Suneagle that has put me in my place. I have to say it does bring a smile to my face, when I see what some people wear in the ring.

hehe tessa didnt mean it in a nasty way.
ok well like i said in my post before about striding out and holding on the bit like when you are riding.
also you could use treats to encrouage the pony round, but this will not happen quickly it does take abit of time to teach it... but make sure you reward after your pony has done what you have asked else they wont learn.
