Equinim can you clarify what happens if your horse does gallop - we are planning to do this next year with my welsh d mare who will be 15 but gallop has always been part of her show as a welsh cob and not sure how we can stop her now esp as she will still be competing as a ridden M & M

vets dont gallop vanessa . not sure what would happen if you did tho.

it depends on the judge some will take a mark off some will just ask you dont do it in your next veteran class i expect if you didnt go too mad they would just mark it as a exhuberant canter. a vhs judge did say they dont expect veterans to gallop to prevent people making older horses push themselves and some veterans can't gallop so it puts everyone on a level playing field

Glad to see that lots of people doing vet classes, I've also got a 28yr old tb(ex Chaser) who looks and acts like a 10yr old . I could never stop him galloping so I'm not even going to try and show him!

hi suneagle not sure where to you live there is a qualifing vhs show at chepstow horse show,thats just down the road from david broomes and aother about 40 minutes past broomes

vets dont gallop vanessa . not sure what would happen if you did tho. your not allowed to canter only in your own show not alltogether in the ring and if you gallop you may be asked to leave they are very hot on rules ,read their rule book as it does vary to other showing
