just wondering if other showing society's have that same rule as the arabs do... (ive only just found this rule out)
the question... In an ECAHO affiliated C show is it compulsory for 1st & 2nd placed horses to present for the championship and what are the penalties for not being present? Should the DC know this and if I took his / her word for it and then got penalised where would I stand?
the reply... I would think that it would be somewhat discourteous not to turn up for a championship for which your horse has qualified. If you check the ECAHO website you will see that a horse that does not turn up for a championship (unless you produce a veterinary certificate) will be disqualified from the show, have its record of score and class placing deleted and will not be able to show for one year. I suggest you read the rule for yourself so that you understand the consequences of not turninng up.
This sounds a bit brutal but 'rules is rules!'

I always feel sorry for supremes and those lucky enough to qualify. Everyone else goes home and only a few supporters are left to enjoy your moment of glory. Perhaps we should have them at the start of the next show he he
