hi, I have been told to wear long black boots for showing, but i thought you had to be 16 to wear them...?
can anybody help??

It depends on what your showing. I'm 5'8 and have been riding hunters at local level since I was 15 so it would have looked stupid wearing jodphur boots on a 16.2.
But then it wouldn't look stupid on a m&m

There is no actual age you have to or cant wear until but it really depends on what pony you are competing on>?

I agree. I think it goes back to the traditional way of showing where you shouldnt have a numnah or stirrup treads and no stocks until over 16 etc etc

But then it wouldn't look stupid on a m&m We do that and wear long boots on the bigger M&M's and boots on the small breeds, and our riders are in their 20's

bit of advice though. If you get a pair of pull on boots, put plastic bags on your feet before pulling them on otherwise its MURDER to get them off after a day of showing

I agree it depends on what you're riding. Heidi is now 16 but she will carry on wearing short boots with the C and long boots with the ISHT. Try and get your boots made to measure with possibly a zip up the back, much easier to get on and off!!!!

yes long boots im only 15 and i wear long boots for my ISRT and then short boots for my 14h show hunter.

wear long boots! they give the impression that you mean business and want to be taken seriously. you will look very smart in long boots than jodphur boots. hope it helps!
