Dont quote me on this, as I could well be wrong, but I think if its a colt they have to be over 14?

I wanted to know if my 9yr old brother could take my colt yearling into child handler and when I emailed the sec of the show she replied with Hi Sarah I have contacted the welsh pony and cob and there does not appear to be anything stopping your brother from showing the colt. However, you will see from the schedule/entry form that you must be covered by third party liability insurance and that someone is prepared to accept responsibility for him as a minor. You will see below the rules they have sent me which mean that your brother will be unable to show him next year. Hope this helps. Regards Jane Thank you for your e-mail regarding the age limits of the handlers of colts. Rule 7.1 in the Judging & Showing Handbook states- In the interest of safety all colts and stallions, two years old or over must be suitably bitted and led by a handler who has reached the age of 14 years or over before January 1st of the current year.
