We need some help with stewarding this season at our SWPA shows. Its great fun, you will learn loads as most of our judges are lovely and give tips as they go and you will get fed. If you are a competitor as well you can get points towards free classes as SWPA Shows. You don't have to commit to all day even just 1 classs will be wonderful and may mean that the full time stewards like me and Karen's mum might get a lunch break this year. If you think you could help at our Trinity and Festival Show on 12th May at David Brooms please pm me so I can put together a list of those willing to help. All offers will be very gratefully accepted. Don't worry if you have not done it before all will be explained and it really is not that hard but stewards are essential to the smooth running of each ring and each show at David Brooms usually needs around 8 stewards to keep all the rings going.Plenty of room for camping if required. Thanks Tiggy01 for that request. I would like to add you can learn a lot about how judges think by supporting them in the ring, and you can see how a judge sees and views a class when they are judging, which may not be what you THINK they see i.e. the pony that puts in a buck behind the judge may be seen by all the viewers around the ringside, but not by the judge themselves.

[glow=green,2,300]Reward cards will be available at the next SWPA show.[/glow]
Even if you can only give your time for one class. it might make the difference between the like of Vanessa actually Eating and taking one small brake on a show day.
Remember with out [glow=red,2,300]YOUR help[/glow] SHOWS (not just SWPA) will not be able to continue

Within reason We always actively encourage young people to come and participate at our shows. It teaches them a sense of responsibility and gives them a chance to see a ring from the inside - from a judge's perspective - and from that they learn ringcraft. They would be expected to keep records accurately and have the confidence to talk to the judge. Some judges frown on too young a person stewarding for them, but we would only allow a young person to steward alone once they have done a probationary period with an experience steward. If you are talking about the other end of the age spectrum - no age limit there. Zimmer frames are welcomed, but anyone over 90 would be expected to run a mile in under 4 minutes just to prove their staying prowess. ;D ;D ;D

Haha.
I will have to speak to Mum. Can you compete and steward at the same show?

But of course, but not in the same class He he
You should not steward if you are closely connected with someone in the ring. e.g. Justin always stands out of the ring at PUK when Stephs or Reece goes in, and we do the same at SWPA
