THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH SWPA! Yesterday at our pc show, one of our judges went home to watch the rugby before the Supreme which left us a judge short. After talking to my mum earlier in the day, he knew that i had done the SWPA young Judges last weekend. He gave her his judges badge and said give it to her, it will be a good experience for her......this is dispite me only ever judging a class at swpa for junior judges.Talk about being thrown in at the deep end!!! So theres me after a days showing with no suit, no hat and trainers. After running round beg burrowing and stealing things to make me look half respectable i ended up with burrowed jeans that i could get on but couldn't do up, jodphur boots from a friends mother and my shirt, tie and jacket from earlier in the day and a straw hat. i was CACKING myself! We went in and after the go around we all decided the same Supreme but disagreed on the Reserve. So thank you SWPA. Without your class, i would NEVER had the chance to do it ;D

Well done it certainly takes some guts to go in there and choose one over another, especially with other judges with masses of experience! Think you deserve a big pat on the back.

Well done megz. VERY BRAVE. I know how hard that must have been as both judge's were very experienced. It's certainly the best way to see showing, knowing the reasons something was/wasn't placed. My face was obviously a picture when called and I'm sure that made your day to see total shock on a competitors face!

it was very scary!!!!! they loved dimple though. One judge was very helpfull and supportive, the other didn't want to know what i wanted to place and even thought i was there to steward dispite having a judges badge on!!!!
Looking for local low key shows now to either judge or help judging to get some miles under the belt before champs

Looking for local low key shows now to either judge or help judging to get some miles under the belt before champs Remeber to get the shows you judge at to write you a recomendation letter so that you can build yourself a portfolio for when you go national! Well done and thanks for the thanks! [does that make sense?]

Well done! I learned a long time ago to always keep a decent hat on the lorry in case a judge did not turn up and I got called upon. It has happened more than once. Perhaps it would be wise to keep maybe a trouser suit and hat amongst your showing kit so that you are always prepared! Go for it. Good judges are always needed.

Supreme was Dolphin Superiority, small Riding Hores ridden by Phill Hughes and produced by Debbie Thomas, Res Chasecroft Dimple in hand owned and home produced by me. I'm sure megz will give the lowdown on what she wanted and some of the comments from the judges would be nice too. x p.s Wasn't sure I should enter supreme cos I knew meg but was sure she'd be a true proff and not take that into consideration (hopefully she didn't!) When you put your comments on meg I won't be offended if you didn't want to place Dimps, I love her and to me that's what matters!

Sorry Karen. I feel it wouldn't be appropriate to give what we thought of other peoples horses incase it causes offence. I dont want to be hated before I start lol!!!
Ive also found out that I can go and judge at a Equestrian centre in Hereford for a client of my mums. Looking forward to that as theres no qualifiers and its all horses i dont know!!
