Or like horses, or do they run a mile when you mention the word horse?. My other half comes to help out, grooms, tacks up,ect and occasionally rides my friends horse, and is a rather unwilling camera man

Ours is a real family affair with OH running SWPA as Chairman, me as Secretary, daughter No 1 does the show affiliations, daughter no 2 is treasurer and son Justin stewards all over the place. He is chief ring steward at PUK and he has a little fan club down Devon way where he gets asked to steward at Christine Knowles shows [asked by all the teenage riders, or so I am lead to believe] The men don't ride, but all us girls do

My other half can't stand ponies and says they are complete waste of time. When we were first together he said it was him or the ponies. Still have the ponies ;D

I am very lucky my O/H shares my interest in the ponies he used to hunt when he was younger and used to ride out with me when we had the cobs (however he rides on the buckle & would never make a show rider) I always admire the people i know that do it all themselves without any input from O/Hs

Well Ian didn't know back from front and thought they came in breed colours so White breed, ginger breed etc! However he does 90% of the work now with my health and shows them etc I am so lucky to have him as there wouldn't be a Denwyn stud without him (it started in 93 and he joined in 99!) My proudest moment was when a proper horseman of 72 observed him and said your a real horse man! But to sing his praises more, because of my health and the fact I have real bad times and find my self bed or wheelchair bound, he does all the house work, cooking, cleaning too!
Sadly I don't rent him out!!!

i am a lucky girly too, as my fiance geoff used to live in egypt, for 7 years and he used to own a desert stallion, a grey 5year old when he first got it. and he used to ride nearly every day. but when he came back to england he stoped riding, untill he met me...... he rides and looks after freddie too, but geoffs style of riding is more for the western movies, ive been teaching him, but he has got a good position but he thinks horses moving sideways and other fancey stuff is VERY WRONG!. he helps out at shows and has shown freddie inhand, he did very well and the judge was extreemly nice, but from the side of the ring it looked like freddie was taking geoff in...

Hubby has been riding since he was 10 and has worked with Shires for years. He has worked for many years in a tack shop as a saddler, and is very knowledgable. He is a saddler now and makes tack, repairs it, saddle fits, reflocks etc etc. That makes me the novice really.

Good lord no Hubby is scared stiff of ponies and has only seen mine a grand total of about 6 times in the 3 and a half years I've had him (the horse that is, not the hubby) ... and has only ever seen me ride twice. Things are looking up slightly tho. He has agreed to accompany me to SJ this weekend as my co driver for towing (not legal to tow on my own). Maybe I'll make a groom out of him yet ;D
