General rule is to use a numnah same colour as the saddle, with the cut being as close to the saddle shape and size as possible. However if the saddle fits well, you can get away with not wearing a numnah at all. Also girth to be the same colour of the pony

I wouldn't wear a white girth though as they get dirty. I have a brown girth to match saddle.

Depaends - as sometimes a different coloured girth can "cut" the pony into two segments, especially with a child riding whose legs are short. Try both and see what suits best.
Washing girths - I put mine in a pillow case to put it through the machine. Has anyone got other suggestions, especially for white ones?

Use vanish on it. Or you could also get a white fleece girth sleeve, then when that gets dirty, take it off and you'll have a sparkling white girth for the rest of the day
