"Concourse d'Elegance" means the most elegant picture in French and the judging should be based on that theory. [remember "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"!] We have three categories: - Traditional - the tradional costume of particular breeds e.g. arabs, spanish etc.
- Modern - the costume of most modern equestrian events e.g. full red hunting gear or evening wear for showing
- Period - going right back into history for the elegance of e.g. side saddle in Henry VIII's time or Victorian equestrian garments.
NB - This is not to be confused with "Fancy Dress" which is possibly described as depicting a theme in costume.

tHANKS MEDWIN, SHE WAS THINKING OF DOING PERIOD THEME, DOES THAT MEAN THAT SHE HAS TO GO SIDE SADDLE OR IF I FOUND THE RIGHT COSTUME SHE CAN RIDE "NORMAL".
