Well, to cut a long story short (ish) i was given a mini shetland colt foal last year, i have previously worked in a miniature horse stud (american imports) and since leaving i have really missed the little guys, i have been asking mum if i can clip toby (mini shet) out just to see how it looks, but up til now she hasn't let me. But during the summer he got a bit of rain scald on his white bits which hasn't gone and now his coat has grown long it is irritating him, so i've clipped him (fully) and i think he's nice enough to show as a mini horse, he's measuring about 33" now so would have to go as a standard, but i would just like your honest opinions as to whether he is quality/refined enough to show in the draught and coloured sections, he's blue dun and white (although doesn't look it in pic, there is a hairy pic of him on my website if you want to see him) he's all registered with SPSBs so i just need to get him over stamped with IMHPs don't i! heres a pic taken today after being clipped. if you all say he's good enough to do well then i'll do his mane etc properly and keep him as a mini horse for a while!!! honest opinions please, thankyou x www.langwedhstud.webs.com

i love the transformation of hairy bear to sleek mini. our falabellas go from being really hairy to refined little horses.
he looks fab id get him overstamped with imhps and go for it.
he will need his mane thinned but leaving the length and a toptop.but id only cut a small bridle patch. as i think the long piece cut out looks a bit odd in a uk class and it takes so long to grow back to same length as rest of mane. good luck in showing him must get into the clipping mode as ours are soooo hairy.
