As for the championships, its a show for all the 1st & 2nd winners of the years shows put together to make one large show....its our own personal show for the south west equestrian.. Not qualifiers for HOYs or olympia (working on that) but still a very good day out with fantastic prizes, championship winner will win £100 cash prize.,reserve champion £50 cash prize...To qualify for our championships you do not need to be registered in any way so open to all....

Thankyou for your quick reply. I still can't manage to find a schedule for the showing show, but I can for the Funday show, but I think thats just me I'm not the best when it comes to computers. I'm sure I'll work it out sooner or later. On your website it says "To qualify for our south west equestrian championship you must of been placed 1st or 2nd at either our funday show or jumping nights...(including novelty showing)" So does this mean there is no qualifiers at the Showing Shows Many thanks again x

Hi sorry the next qualifier schedule isnt online yet, it will be very soon!, Our showing shows are all qualifiers for the SWPA,I.S.S ,CHAPS (UK) & VETERAN SOCIETY.. Our fundays & jumping nights are all qualifiers for our own south west equestrian championships, this way we have something for every horse/pony & rider.. Do you think we should add the showing shows to the qualifiers for our own championships?? And if so, how do you think i could make it fair for everyone?? As there is no way a happy hacker /fun show pony/horse can compete against the top quality horses/ponies that qualify for the larger championships.. Should we run two levels of championships?? I would really love a reply as to your views on this..As this is our first year going into qualifier shows, we need as much feedback as possible to make it run smooth and fair for everyone...

Maybe the funday champs could be on day one. SWPA one be on day two with maybe day one supreme & reserve going against day 2 supreme and reserve for an overall championship (or instead of 2 days could be morning and afternoon, or could even be different rings allocated to each level)
Or if the championship was meant to be just for the funday maybe you should keep it that way to incourage novices and help them improve.
Or maybe the winners or champions at the funday shows (or championship day) could win a free entry under a similar section at one of your showing shows (or championship day)
I'm not sure how you could make it fair for everyone if the championships are open to both funday and showing winners. But I have only been showing for a couple of years and I do have a top quality extremely well schooled show pony, but he is now a veteran and does not look his best anymore and I do not know a great deal about showing - and we have tried higher level showing without much success, so which show do you think would better suit people like me? So in some ways I think it would be better with both levels of showing together, but in other ways I don't think it is fair to novice horses and riders.
Just some suggestions

Hi thanks for the reply, as you can see its very confusing, Our main aim is to give the novice show competitors a bit more confidence as we have all been beginners at one point, its not much fun coming last and not getting rosettes or trophies..Some competitors will give up at this point, but that shouldnt be the case...its all about learning and gaining more knowledge, to know what to do and what not to do. The competitor may have the best horse/pony but lack the knowledge of how to show in the correct way, hence will get marked down by the judge. Im sure that most on this forum know exactly the correct way of showing their horse/pony but we all have to start somewhere.. As for your pony we do veteran qualifier classes at our showing shows, but only you know the condition and what the ability of your pony is..Im not really in a position to give you advice on what classes to enter (im not a judge), but why not try our funday as we still get some top quality show ponies to compete against. xxx

Can I just applaud the fact that you are running the VHS classes. Unfortunatly I lost my veteran earlier in the year, but these classes have always been few and far between in the South - so WELL DONE!
