do you always keep your weaned foals stabled and rugged??
I think it's important to have them in at least, lots of food hay, and handling.... they go wild and weedy so quickly (within days too) and of course if they get sick they go down quick...

No rugs on yet, but Titch will be cliped as she gets soooooooo wooley and it is unfair to compete her as else she sweats like hell. So in mid October rug will go on.

Blimey, all of our live out, and the foal won't be rugged this winter if I can help it. Keep telling her she's 3/4 Welsh D and could well be stuck on a mountain in the Brecon Beacons! We won't be weaning until the new year though, and the filly has an ass on her reminiscent of a quarter horse! Both the boys are having trouble making their girths meet too!

Mine never had rugs off at all! LW's all summer (turned out by night and in by day) and they now have their HW's on-out by day in by night.
Tried to keep Lexy's coat for HOYS and failed miserably-so he was clipped on Wednesday and now has lycra body suit and hood under his HW stable rug!

josh is lightly rugged and out 24/7 at mo hes on his hols lol.
petra is rugged but only lightly as well, i dont rug foals as they get over heated with all there fluff, i have a stallion rugged as i want to show him over the winter so trying to keep some sort of decent coat on him .
