Jess has been invited up to Sussex to learn to play Polo for a week in a friend's Polo yard with their son (an old friend of Jess's from school) who is already a keen player. She will get the opportunity to learn the 'ropes' and play up at Cowdray Park!! She's so looking forward to it as it's something she's wanted to do for a while and she's adamant that she'll be good at it!!! I'll be stuck at home mucking out!! No change there then!!

Well Jess did have a fantastic week last week playing Polo; her accommodation included a gym and a hot-tub and our friends treated her like a queen ;D ;D ;D On the down-side though, I don't think she was very happy about the way the ponies are treated We were pre-warned that polo-ponies are used more like 'vehicles' and Jess was quite upset about the condition of some of the ponies that were being played. Maybe we lose sight of the fact that they are 'real workhorses' as many have been over the years and are kept but not loved like our ponies at home. Or am I being too 'soft' with that last remark

totally agree with you. horses that are kept for a purpose are often not looked after to the same standards as our pets. I dont think they are neglected, just not pampered
