Hello to you all.
As you will know I'm not a frequent visitor to the forum (too busy, at least that's my excuse)
However I just wanted a chance to express my thanks to you all, Judges, Stewards, Sponsors and Exhibitors for making our Twelfth Championship Show such a success. Yes, we were lucky with the weather, but the atmosphere at the show was just great and our team of stewards headed by Emma May did a fantastic job.
I usually thank all our stewards individually, but have been asked by many of them to save the time and postage, however it would be remiss of me not to take this opportunity not to sing their praises. They all do a first class job and we have already had letters from exhibitors saying what a professional and friendly job they all did. I hope you will all join me and thank all the stewards for their efforts.
I would also like to say a huge thanks to our judges who get paid expenses money only and give up their time freely. I think you will all agree they were all very peasant and accommodating.
This year I purposely took a more background role, leaving the running of the show to Emma and her team. This gave me more chance to talk to many of you, exhibitors, judges and stewards alike to gain your views on the new competitions such as the GwynBeth and what other classes you would like to see at the Champs.
It was pleasing to see so many of you watching the two evening performances especially as they both went on till very late each night. Our team will be busy in the coming months to see how we can make the performances finish earlier without loosing content, it's quite obvious to me that Wheelbarrow Racing is here to stay!!
I was also asked by many of you if you could come on Thursday, with the show starting earlier on Friday. Well, we will look into this, obviously the stables would cost more and the ground rent paid to the centre would increase significantly, so please let me know your opinions.
Here's hoping next year's show will be just as great.
Next Year's Shows
As many of you will know Exeter E/C at Poltimore is no longer. Medwin and myself have been busy trying to find new venues without too much success. Many places are available but either have little parking or not enough showing space. Also the cost of some of the venues is so high that we would make a loss.
However we have manged to secure the facilities at Moorhew Farm Equestrian, Bridgwater for our Winter Show, and The Grange
Equestrian Centre, Oakhampton for our Good Friday Show. Please keep looking at our SWPA Shows page for further updates. Our next show schedule will be available shortly.
Once again many thanks to you all for making our Championships so successful.
Richard
