HI i have a well bred section A pony hes 19 months old and im now thinking about the show season this year but i need your help as ive never shown ponies before in-hand.. It would be great if you could answer my questions..
1, My pony was born in june 2008 and will be nearly 2 when the show season starts, will he go into the 2 year old classes??
2, What head gear will he wear, should he be bitted or a white halter??
3, what should my dress code be??
4, As a section A pony should i trim him anywhere?
5, Should his mane be short or long??
Hes chestnut with 4 long white stockings and a very wide white blaze, white mane and tail any tips would be fantastic as i would like to stand a sporting chance..
Please help Justine x

loads on the WPCS web site as helen said. I believe he is offically classed as a 2 year old as of 1st Jan this year, so he would be in 2 year old classes. turnout wise for you, it may depend on who is running the show. I would wear a tweed for NPS classes and a waitcoat for breed show but I have C/D so not sure about the A's, presume they are the same. Sure someone will help you out

ok i have shown an a for someone, i take it he is gelded? in which case he should be in a white halter, if he is entire he should be bitted. your dress code should be shirt and tie with a waistcoat, if he has long white stockings go for dark trousers and vice versa for dark legs, trimming should be done but discreetly ie take the fluff out of ears whiskers shortened but not completely taken off, beard off etc. Mane should be shortened.
Anything else just ask!!
