Thank you for any replies

Schedule not yet finished so I cannot answer that one BUT we just don't get the entries! Low entries means a financial loss on the classes as it costs money to transport/hire the jumps [£150 - £200] and when you only get two or three in each class it does not pay.

Thank you for your response, sorry to hear that these classes are not well supported. Do you not do any whp classes at your show's now as a result of this, or do you better support at the summer shows?

What we would be interested in knowing is 1. What WH classes would be well supported? NPS, PUK, BSPS, Mini's, Nursery stakes etc 2. Is anyone prepared to set up and dissmantle the jumps at shows? It is really frustrating because you will go to unaffiliated shows and see 20 + in WH classes For us it means collecting our jumps from where we store them at Chepstow, driving them to the showground [deisel costs and bridge fare - £100], unload from the trailer, setting them up/paying a course builder [£150], extra steward in the ring to put them up and down/measure all day, taking them down at the end of a day and loading them back into the trailer, driving them back to Chepstow. Richard did all of that on his own last year [Reece was in New Zealand / Justin at sea] as so few people are prepared to help at shows these days. His hip/knee is now getting worse and he cannot get up and down into the trailer carying a heavy jump wing or poles any more. He simply cannot continue without any help.

I totally understand your point Medwin and perhaps did not appreciate the amount of work involved. I like you thought that the whp classes would be well supported, as you say these classes at local shows are full. With regards to the type of WHP classes I was looking for, it was purely your own qualifers, if you still have them, but perhaps other association classes would attrach more entries.
Thank you for taking time to reply and may I add that all the hard work you and your team put into your shows is fully appreciated by all those that compete.

We've just dropped the workers from our hunt show - we find the're not well supported, even with the SWPA qualifiers. Too much effort for very little return!!
