Well as my yearling shetland colt has attempted to cover my D mare a couple of times - he is booked in for the dreaded deed on Thursday bit earlier than I had hoped but it has to be done. Poor little pony but he should behave himself and a shettie x d would not be great. LOL

I saw a foal at the weekend which was the result of a similar coupling... shetland dam and connie sire! Both foal and dam are doing well though :-)

No thanks it prob would be black and I suppose would look like a mini fell maybe but only pure section D's on my yard thankyou. He is in the stableyard and the girls are in the field until the dreaded deed has been done - barry did say maybe that is why she did not come into season when we thought she was due which is quite a horrific thought - perhaps I should get the vet to check her out when he comes on Thurs - what do you think Helen?? Mind you bit late to do anything about it now LOL

Well the shetland still has hit bits, vet suspects a possible small hernia on right side so coming back next thursday to knock him out and do it then

I had a mare that never showed as being in season. Bred several fillies from her, but always chose to use a stallion where she could run out with him. Covering in hand for her was not the answer.
