Having just had words with my stand in postie - Can I just remind everyone that if you send your entries in via registered or special post they must be signed for and there is a strong chance that the person the entries are sent to may not be in!
If you only address them to "The Secretary" I cannot then collect them from the main office [12 mile round trip!] as I cannot prove that I am the secretary [according to Royal Mail]
Recorded or special delivery must have my name on it and be delivered on a Saturday only.
Sorry, but these are Royal Mail rules and can make it very difficult and time consuming for me to collect these letters from the main Post Sorting Depot.
You are far better to send via ordinary mail and take a photocopy before you post. If then for any reason your entries go missing we can sort it out very quickly at the show so long as you bring your photocopies with you.
PS my normal postie is a poppet and helps me no end - just got "grumpie" this morning.
