SWPA are pleased to announce that they will be running qualifications for judges and stewards of any age, but particularly for the younger 16 - 25 age bracket.
The aim is to give entrants the support, advice and guidance they need to enter into the areas of judging and voluntary stewarding by working through a variety of units that will give them the confidence to progress on to national panel assessments and voluntary work at such shows as national championships.
The work involved will be both practial and theory units and will be delivered through the medium of the Internet.
If you are interested please PM MedwinatSWPA for more information.

The first induction workshop for the "Prepare to be ...." qualifications for either judges or stewards will be held on 24 October 2011 at The Hankridge Arms in Taunton.
Spaces are limited [20 in first cohort] and applications for registration will be on a "first come first served basis". As interest in these new qualifications is very keen I suggest SWPA members get their applications in asap before places are offered to non registered members.
Costs factors will be given on application and the range of options for payment discussed with individual applicants.
There will be options for short courses for Peer Mentors and Leader in the next 6 months and all mentors after 1 August 2012 will be expected to complete the short course alongside working with their mentees.
For more details please email MedwinatSWPA@aol.com direct
Qualifications carry SCAAT and UCAS points.
