The Breamore Stud and Show Team welcome New Forest colt foal, Cuffnells Herb Robert. Bobbie is six months old and like many of the colt foals off the Forest was destined to have a very, very short life. Consigned to kennels straight from the drift, Bobbie was overnighted at the yard of a friend of mine who contacted me as she knew I needed a colt foal as a companion to one of mine. Now, he's not a world beater, isnt our Bobbie, but he'll do a job. Plain (very) bay, with no white on him, he was not a saleable colour - most of the buyers go for the roans, greys, etc. Bless him, though, he's got a temperament to die for and he endeared himself not only to me, but more importantly to my OH.
Bobbie is destined to become a driving pony and to gently wave the flag to point out that the New Forest pony is worth more than a bullet at six months old just because of his colour. Watch this space!!
By the way, he cost me just the price of a couple of small bales of hay.

On the day I master digital photography I will get posting photos by the score - until then, patience is a virtue. You would never believe I was a professional photographer!! Technology and I do not mix, regrettably. The lad is doing fine - got himself cast in the stable on Sunday and was as good as gold as I heaved him over. Got very cuddly and mummified over the whole thing - just as if he could talk. My other 18 equines are wondering what I see in him.....!
