Why has this website forum become so quite........ ?? I really enjoy catching up with show results, forthcoming events, etc., but it has all gone very silent. Can we not start up again and keep in touch x

Hi I was just saying that to my friend the other day . I guess lots of people stay in touch through Facebook now and post show news and pics on there . Will have to see if I can remember how to and post some pics on here as have some from Cricklands . We have just about dried out now lol ! but had a super time . Big thanks to Medwin /team and the lovely judges of course xxx

Doncan, It was such a good time bar the weather and it does feel "like going home" when we all meet up. At some time in the future we should plan a picnic type event at a SWPA show so we can all get together and spend some time together. Lots of SWPA shows do not finish too late so we could start mid afternoon? Lots of picnic and chairs. What do you think?

I'd be up for that!! We were at Cricklands too, get more excited about meeting up with people than actually showing

I can remember years ago at Chard Show we always celebrated two peoples birthdays. We would get our showing done in the morning and then have a good "tipple" in the afternoon. We all used to bring food and one of those wine cartons would be on the lorry step and people would just help themselves. One year when JT was about 10 years old, someone whispered in my ear "is JT allowed to drink the wine?" "NO!" was my reply and I was informed he was on his 5th glass full! Things don't change he still has far too many and he is 30 now!
I also remember there was a little group of BSPS dads who had a card school going in the lorries whilst wives and children undertook the showing. You could always tell which lorry was in use by the cigar smoke wafting out of the windows and the clink of beer bottles!
I agree this forum has gone very quiet, people don't post their results and, yes, most go on to Facebook. I am guilty as my time is now limited and, as I am back teaching, I cannot sneek a little look during the day anymore!

Interestingly enough, we are getting lots of guests, but they don't sign up and post and join our online community!
