Entries are now coming in - remember to log your bedding and feed requirements on the entry forms to give us some idea of numbers of bales of shavings and Haylage needed. We have a new announcer for this year - Vincent Seddon will be joining us and doing some of the commentary in the main arena this year. Emma May will be back as team leader for all the stewards and joining the team will be some old [and young] faces SWPA will be pleased to welcome back for this show. Anyone with any free time please let me know and we will rope you into some stewarding [hat and trousers job - no jeans etc] Young judges competition - we still have spaces so get your names into Richard asap if you want to take part RichardatSWPA@aol.com - full name, age and address including mobile and email please. Any queries just ask here or email me direct MedwinatSWPA@aol.com

Looking at the long range weather forecast for the Champs weekend we are looking at "occassional showers" [now there's something new!] and "temperatures above average". There are no deepening low pressure systems or thunderstorms predicted, just "temperatures dipping at nightime". I can live with that!

TWO new [glow=red,2,300]working hunter classes[/glow] have been added to the schedule to accommodate those adults/older children who ride ponies and do not comply with the age restrictions for novice and open ponies that are in line with NPS/PUK/BSPS etc rules.
They will jump a course in the previous classes [according to their height] and marked for the jumping stage, then do a flat show as a group at the endd of the section.
See SWPA website for more details and schedules

Can I just ask that people remember to put the right money value in stamps on their entries and DO NOT send them registered or any form that requires signing as I am back at work and not here to receive them. Richard is going to the main sorting office every day at the moment, but the Royal Mail won't give them to him if they are addressed to me, and won't give them to us at all if we don't have proof we ARE "SWPA", or "The Entries Secretary" or "Secretary". All this depends on what little Hitler is behind the desk, and the Royal Mail have now moved my normal home postie to another route so I have a new one to break in! My old one was brilliant and sorted it all for me - knew exactly where I would be, and when, for a signature - even down the field!
