Wow! looks like I'm not the only one that could do with some help! I can see that the autumn would probably be the best time as we are all pretty busy competing over the summer. As I said before I dont mind being a guinea pig if you want it take more of a 'lecture demo' feel. (I could demonstrate how not to do it!!)
I think Matthew Lawrence gives lessons at Badgworth over the winter months. Perhaps the swpa could book a day with him if people were interested? (the NPS organised a few lessons with him in April but I couldn't go)
...please dont organise anything for the weekend of Your Horse Live in November 'cos I'll be working there!!
I look forward to a really interesting day!

I will definatly sign up for the stewarding lesson - I always feel I'm more of a hinderance in the ring! I'm quite good at taking rosettes out of bags and that's about all - not much skill involved in that!

yeah it would be great also if we had a all round judge talking about what they look for in the ring and conformation using some horses to explaine conformation and way of going...

Right we will go for end of Oct up in the north of the region and Nov at Poltimore. I will book the dates and let you know. We have never asked anyone to come a do a session we have usually got enough people in SWPA to run a novice session - but if some of you more experienced guys would like a day with Mathew - we will see what we can do

i think a sesion with swpa people first to see what the attendance is, then organise a prof to do one after that say early spring. aiming at how to bring a pony from winter coat into show condition.

Brill idea, especially having them in diff areas, Poltimore in Nov suits us fine as we will have a 'baby' to bring out. Stewarding lessons fab as it's not as easy as it looks!!!!

I do agree with Admin - lets do it in-house first. We have organised things like this then few turn up - having booked Mathew he would expect to be paid and we need to cover costs!

Yes i did a clinic with Bridget Millington with the connemara society last year and they ran at a loss. Those kind of people aren't cheap. They didn't take deposits and people didn't turn up as it was really cold. So i think deposits would be a good idea therefore hopefully you won't make a loss

Don't suppose you'd like to do some young judges lectures, go through the finer points of conformation?
