I agree some home produced or amateur classes for people like me who have one pony and work full time!! Alot of these people who go in the homeproduced classes are not and just go in bounty hunting!! Make them for real amateurs ;D ;DThere are plenty of other classes for the real pros! DEFINETELY PLEASE!!!

Suneagle - when you say a championship of the class winers at the Championship - in what way? All classes have a championship at the end and then the Champions go forward to the supreme.

well it can be that u can only quilify for the ameture classes at your shows, then have a championship of all the inhands and ridden sepretally then they to champions go head to head for overall amature or home produced champion? or do you think that is too much?
also just thought of another you have young handler classes why not have young rider classes?

We have Novice Riddens for Ponies not to have won 1st place befor Jan 1st of the year. The Problem we have with Is Proving it. several ponies get sold on paperwork lost etc etc.

The Ameture/Homeproduceds debats is VERY VERY hard to rule. When is a homeproduced not homeproduced. When is a producer not a producer! As for the Young Rider! Do you Mean BEST RIDER?

What classes i need at the moment are Small Breeds Novice Rider without a young age restriction
I am finding with a 10 year old boy who only started riding in september that Novice classes are often restricted by a younger age of child. Or its novice pony - where often he would be against both large and small breeds and very experienced riders bringing on the novices
I am sure he isnt the only boy in the world to suddenly say "i wanna do that" i am sure there must be loads of 16 & unders who are new to showing So maybe rider in First year of Riding large and small breeds is what i need
Concours In Hand...very good idea

hmmm.... yeah and no?!?
for the young rider classes split it in age groups and could be judged more on turnout of horse/pony and rider, handling of the horse/pony maybe even say in the shedule a few "tasks" that need to be performed in the indervidual show eg. rein back 4 loop serpintine, 20 meter circle in trot and for the older ones circle in canter, and a counter canter. so they have to do their home work about it and really pratice
can be judged on = tack and turnout handling of the horse/ pony in a group and indervidual use of the arena and tasks in the indervidual show
so its more a test of the riders and not on the horses conformation
looking on my arab nationals shedule and this is what is says
HOME PRODUCED: horse/pony not to have been produced for a fee from a professional yardin the past 3years and the handler/rider never to have shown for a professional yard. horse/pony to be shown by a member of the exhibitors immediate family (if not exhibitor).
AMATEUR:- A person showing Arabs who does not: - 1. Engage in breeding, livery, dealing or hiring horses as means of their livelihood. 2. Accept remuneration for employment inconnection with horses in racing, showing, livery stable or riding school (instruction at Pony/Riding club excepted). 3. Show a horse, owned or sponsored by a company or commercial firm or a horse which his or her immediate family accepts livery or training charges from a person outside the immediate family concerned. 4. The horse/pony must not have been stabled in a professional yard, or handled or shown by a professional since the 1st January 2006(except for brood mares being covered).

We are they ONLY association that holds junior ridden OPEN classes not just M&M. Held at every show and have been for over five years now!
We are aware that we hold a large number of classes at our shows and often finish late. Committee members often feel we need to reduce the number of classes we have and putting a range of amature produced classes would only include more.

We dropped Style and appearance classes - no one entered them! Junior Open ridden alongside M&M Junior ridden is far more popular.
